Terms of Use

Last updated: January 1, 2024

1. General Terms

Welcome to MoRent. By accessing or using our car rental services, website, or mobile application, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you may not use our services. MoRent reserves the right to modify these terms at any time. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. These terms apply to all users, including renters, visitors, and any other persons who access or use the service.

2. Rental Agreement

Each vehicle rental is governed by a separate Rental Agreement that you will sign at the time of pickup. The Rental Agreement specifies the rental period, vehicle details, pricing, insurance coverage, and any additional terms specific to your rental. The vehicle must be returned on the agreed-upon date, time, and location. Late returns may incur additional charges at the daily rate plus applicable fees. Extensions must be requested and approved in advance. Unauthorized extensions may result in the vehicle being reported as stolen.

3. Eligibility

To rent a vehicle from MoRent, you must: (a) be at least 21 years of age (25 for premium and luxury vehicles); (b) hold a valid driver's license that has been issued for at least 2 years; (c) present a valid credit card in your name for the security deposit; (d) provide a valid form of identification (passport or national ID card); (e) meet our insurance and creditworthiness requirements. Additional drivers must meet all the same requirements and be registered at the time of rental. Drivers under 25 may be subject to a young driver surcharge.

4. Insurance & Protection

All rentals include basic third-party liability insurance as required by local law in the country of rental. Additional coverage options are available including: Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) which limits your liability for damage to the rental vehicle; Theft Protection (TP) which limits your liability in case of theft; Personal Accident Insurance (PAI) covering the driver and passengers; and Super Cover which reduces your excess to zero. Pre-existing damage must be noted at pickup. You are responsible for any damage not covered by your chosen insurance package, up to the full value of the vehicle.

5. Cancellation Policy

Free cancellation is available up to 48 hours before the scheduled pickup time for a full refund. Cancellations made between 24-48 hours before pickup will incur a fee equal to one day's rental charge. Cancellations made less than 24 hours before pickup or no-shows will be charged the full rental amount for the first three days. Refunds will be processed to the original payment method within 5-10 business days. Early returns do not qualify for partial refunds unless agreed upon in advance. MoRent reserves the right to cancel reservations due to vehicle unavailability, in which case a full refund or equivalent vehicle will be provided.

6. Liability & Restrictions

The renter is responsible for all traffic violations, fines, and toll charges incurred during the rental period. The vehicle must not be used for: racing, towing, off-road driving, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, transporting hazardous materials, or any illegal activity. The vehicle must not leave the European Union or the European Economic Area without prior written consent. Subletting or unauthorized transfer of the vehicle is strictly prohibited. MoRent is not liable for personal belongings left in the vehicle, loss of business, or any indirect damages arising from the rental.

7. Payment Terms

All prices are displayed in Euros and include applicable taxes (IVA). A security deposit will be held on your credit card at the time of pickup, ranging from 500 EUR to 5,000 EUR depending on the vehicle category. The deposit will be released within 15 business days after the vehicle is returned in satisfactory condition. We accept major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express), debit cards for payment (not deposits), PayPal, Apple Pay, and bank transfers for long-term rentals. Additional charges (fuel, damage, fines) may be debited after the rental period.

8. Vehicle Condition

Vehicles are provided in clean, roadworthy condition with all standard equipment. A vehicle condition report will be completed at both pickup and return. You must inspect the vehicle at pickup and note any pre-existing damage on the condition report. The vehicle must be returned in the same condition as received, accounting for normal wear and tear. Interior cleanliness is expected; excessive dirt or stains will incur a cleaning fee of up to 150 EUR. Smoking in the vehicle is prohibited and will result in a 200 EUR deep cleaning charge.

9. Fuel Policy

Vehicles are provided with a full tank of fuel and must be returned with a full tank. If the vehicle is returned with less fuel than at pickup, you will be charged for the missing fuel at a rate of 2.50 EUR per liter plus a 30 EUR refueling service fee. Alternatively, you may prepay for a full tank of fuel at pickup at competitive rates, allowing you to return the vehicle at any fuel level without additional charges. The wrong fuel type must never be used; damage caused by incorrect fuel is not covered by any insurance and the renter will be liable for all repair costs.
